Media Musings Blog Archive Twitter abuse a problem When a celebrity is on Facebook, they can choose who to allow to be their "friend" (unless it a fan page, where content can be deleted quickly anyway). This is different to Twitter as anyone can end a tweet to anyone else, regardless if they follow each other or not. With more and more celebrities joining Twitter, it allowing your http://www.easysqueegee.co.uk average person to send them a tweet, whether it love, support or hate. The most high profile cases have been the death threats levelled by tweet at TV presenter Charlotte Dawson and more recently departing Adelaide footballer Kurt Tippett. People have to remember that the people sending these threats are hiding behind the supposed anonymity that an online pseudonym gives them. They are also most likely uneducated or blowing off steam. With the benefit of no statistics and just using common sense, I think you would find that people are more likely to come to harm from someone who hasn sent a public death threat to them than someone who has. I work in an area with a lot of drug affected people and receiving a death threat from catching someone shoplifting is not unusual. Now, I not defending people who are sending death threats to people. But I think common sense should be applied in dealing with the threats http://www.arabcarsales.co.uk and in most cases they should just simply be ignored as the perpetrator generally only wants the attention from person they are threatening.
